The short version
The Village is run by AESC Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17430946). “We”, “us” and “our” mean AESC Digital Ltd. You can contact us at hello@the-village.club.
These terms apply when you use The Village app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we use your information.
The Village only works if everyone feels safe. When you use it, you must not:
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. If you break these rules we may remove content, suspend or close your account without notice, and, where someone may be at risk or a crime may have been committed, share information with the police.
You can report or block any member from their profile or your chat with them. Reporting always blocks them too: you won't see each other again. Our team reviews every report, usually within 24 hours, and acts on it. If you think someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
We suggest mums who may get on with you, but we don't run criminal record checks on members and we can't guarantee how anyone will behave. Please:
You're responsible for your own decisions about meeting and what you share with other members.
You own what you add to your profile and send in chats. You give us permission to store it, show it to the members you're matched with, and use it to run The Village and keep it safe, for as long as it's on the service. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share it.
We don't read your messages unless someone reports a conversation, we need to investigate a safety concern, or the law requires it.
Some events shown in The Village are run by local businesses and organisers, not by us. They are responsible for their events. We check events before they appear, but we can't guarantee them.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Delete my account). We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop running The Village, in which case we'll give you reasonable notice where we can.
We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for the behaviour of other members or event organisers, or for business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change is significant, we'll ask you to accept the new terms in the app before you continue to use The Village. The version and date are at the top of this page.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please email hello@the-village.club first and we'll try to put it right. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.
